German and Polish Food

Every Wednesday afternoon I would take a drive to the German deli. They had these incredible pork hocks, smoked and sprinkled with fennel seed and sea salt and were still warm from the smoker when I arrived. If they didn't have them that week, for whatever reason, I would go home and try to duplicate them, but they never came out quite the same.

Bratwurst, potato dumplings and farina dumplings with a touch of cinnamon sugar. Fresh hearty breads and pork sausages. What a treat for the palate these foods are.

German Deli This place is a veritable Super market. Groceries, baked goods, fresh Bauernbrot breads, sweets and just about every meat you could think of. Pork ham shanks, smoked pork rib roast, bratwurst, sausages, cold cuts, ringwurst and Black Forest Prosciutto. Beef and pork loaf, liver dumplings, Nuernberger Bratwurs and Stiglmeier's Alpine Sausage. 3 to 4 pound Abraham hams and Koenemann's blood sausage.
